6 New Honoured Members Welcomed
Friday September 24th, 2021 was a special night for 6 local athletes as they were formally inducted into the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame.
Inductees Robert (Bob) Allen, Jim Bell, John Kasperski, Rosemary Powers, Marianne (Caravaggio) Watkins, Albert White (represented by his granddaughters Tiffany Drummond and Sandra Buckberrough) were on hand at the Hall for the ceremony. Each new member received a personalized framed “Thunderbird” print which was created and donated to the Hall by the late local artist Norman Knott.
When induction ceremony M/C Linda de Jeu offered each athlete the opportunity to speak to the audience, each made a point of recognizing the support from family, coaches, teammates they had crossed paths with throughout their sporting careers, stating “it wouldn’t have been possible to be as successful as I was without their love and support.”
