Terry (Spitz) Davis
Starting at age seven, Terry Davis played three complete decades of lacrosse. He had an impressive minor league career: stick boy for the 1951-54 Mann Cup champions, player for the undefeated UE Juveniles of 1958, and scoring champ with the Whitby Juniors, 1960 Eastern Canada Champions.
Terry’s senior career was nomadic but highly productive: league scoring titles with Brooklin (1961), first rookie to do so, and Nanaimo of the Western Canada League (1964). After a year with Victoria, he returned for two seasons in Brooklin, two pro seasons with Montreal and St. Catharines, then back to Brooklin for two more years as player/coach. He finally returned to Peterborough in 1972 and the following year this club won the Mann Cup. Terry played pro in 1974 with Philadelphia and Toronto, and 1975 with Maryland Arrows.
At retirement, Terry was on the all-time Top Ten List in scoring goals (566), assists (586) and points (1,152). Some pro-points are missing. Off the playing floor, Terry coached PMLA All-Star teams and was co-coach of the 1989 Sr. A Quakers. He died in 2007.
