Reg Millage

Reg excelled at many sports – lacrosse, curling, fastball, hockey, racquetball, wheelchair basketball, sledge hockey and golf. He was MVP three times in fastball, and four times in High School curling, winning COSSA in 1995. Reg was a four-time provincial lacrosse champion and was named Best High School Lacrosse Goalie. Reg played wheelchair basketball for Ontario. His most successful sport by far is golf. Locally he won the Ontario Junior Tournament of Champions twice as a juvenile and twice as a junior.

He has won the Peterborough Invitational twice, the Peterborough Golf and Country Club Championship, the Kawartha Invitational, and the City and District Junior Championship twice. As a junior golfer, Reg played internationally, winning an American Junior Golf Association event and accumulated numerous Top 10’s including 2nd in the Canadian Juvenile and 4th in Canadian Junior Championships. He attended VCU in Richmond, Virginia on a full golf scholarship, where his team won 17 NCAA tournaments including 4 consecutive Colonial Athletic Association Conference Championships. In NCAA Division I Tournaments Reg had 10 top five, and 19 top ten finishes, and was awarded the CAA Conference Rookie of the Year in 1997. He was twice named the CAA Athlete of the Year in 1999 and 2000. In 2000 Reg represented VCU at NCAA div I Nationals as an individual. He was on the VCU Academic Honour Roll four times, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. In 2010 he was named to the NCAA Division 1 CAA Conference Silver Anniversary team. He won the prestigious Monroe Invitational Amateur and finished in the Top 25 as an amateur in the Canadian Professional Tour Masters Tournament. Millage was an eight-time Ontario and six-time National team member and represented Canada at the World Amateur Masters in Germany and Four Nations Cup in Australia in 1999. Reg turned professional in 2000 and played the Canadian Tour, Hooters Tour and Nationwide Tour from 2000-04. He has won 21 tournaments as a professional. He joined the PGA of Canada in 2004 and is a Class A Professional. Reg is recognized as one of Canada’s top high performance golf coaches, currently the Head Provincial Coach at Golf Ontario. Reg joins his father Randy as an honoured member of the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame.
