Bob Errey
Born in Montreal, raised in Peterborough, Bob was a local high school track star and the City and District Junior Golf Champion. He played hockey in the Minor Petes AAA system from novice to junior B and had a stellar career with the Peterborough Petes, scoring 168 points in 154 games. In 1983, he scored 53 goals and added 47 assists and was named to the OHL First All-Star Team. Scouts were impressed with his quickness, speed and offensive ability, which resulted in a first round pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins, in the 1983 NHL draft. He split his first three years between the Penguins and the Baltimore Skipjacks of the AHL. In 1986 he returned to the Penguins, winning two Stanley Cups, in 1991 and 1992 as their Assistant Captain. He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 1992 then went on to the San Jose Sharks where he was named captain. His next stop was the Detroit Red Wings and a return to the Stanley Cup finals in 1995, losing out to the New Jersey Devils. He returned to San Jose and then spent time with the Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and the Hartford WoIfPack of the AHL. He was selected to Team Canada in 1997 and won an IIHF World Championship Gold Medal.
Bob retired from the NHL in 1999 after playing in 994 games and scoring 411 points during his 15 year career. Bob is currently the TV colour analyst for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
