To say the evening was a huge success would be an understatement!
With family, friends and teammates in attendance, the 2026 Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony showcased our 6 new members perfectly!
The Class of 2026 includes: Allan Crowe (Builder: Softball), John Grant, Jr. (Athlete: Lacrosse), Terry Paul (Athlete: Rowing), Kelleigh Traynor-Hartnett (Athlete: All-Round), Jeff Twohey (Builder: Hockey) and Tim Watts (Athlete: Archery). By clicking on individuals names, you may view their induction portraits and biographies.

After being lead into the Memorial Centre venue by bagpipers Nick Lasch and Brandon McDermott, emcee Linda de Jeu introduced Township of Selwyn Deputy Warden Sherry Senis and Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal, who brought greetings on behalf of their constituents. MPP Dave Smith, also in attendance, made scroll presentations to each of the inductees.

YourTV’s Dan Malta was recognized by Hall of Fame Chair Tim Barrie for his tremendous support of sports in the Peterborough area, and for his contributions to the Sports Hall of Fame in particular. Dan served on the Hall’s Board of Directors, was instrumental in creating our “Sports Legends of Peterborough” series, and has been the ‘go-to-guy’ for recording our induction ceremony for our YouTube Channel. As he leaves the Peterborugh area, we say “Thanks Dan, and best of luck in your future endeavours!”

In addition to the expertise of Dan Malta, we are very appreciative of the audio-visual skills brought forth by this talented team! Thank you for all you did to make our night picture (and sound!) perfect!

Left to Right: Brian Tardiff, Kevin Bronson, Dan Malta, Jacob Bronson and Grace Hughes

We would like to thank Tracey Ormond of “That’s A Wrap” Catering, for again providing our delicious, after-ceremony food service.
Jessica Bell and her staff of Levy Canada is to be thanked for her beverage service to our induction ceremony.
As always, we thank the crew of the Memorial Centre who worked tirelessly to set up the venue and make sure all looked great for our ceremony. You were there for us every step of the way!
And finally last, but certainly not least, to our invaluable team of volunteers who made the event flow seamlessly! We could not have put on such a wonderful event without your efforts!

Celebrating her 38th year of volunteering at the induction event, we thank Honorary Inductee Terri-Lynn Johnson for helping out on the front lines at the registration desk!
