Inductee Class of 2023 has been revealed!
The Class of 2023 has been announced!
New this year, the Class of 2023 was officially introduced to the community via The Peterborough Examiner.
According to Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame Chair Patricia Bronson, a press ‘release’ versus a press ‘conference’ seemed to a better option as it is difficult to get all inductees and their guests to the Hall for the announcement, and there tends to be a little redundancy with the induction ceremony.
Without further ado, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that:
*Ed Arnold, long-time editor of the Peterborough Examiner, joins the Hall in the Builder: media category,
*Minto Cup winning Randy Bryan, in the Athlete: Lacrosse category,
*Long-time volunteer with the Canadian Olympic Association Molly Cartmell in the Builder: Administrator-Olympic Games category,
*Kawartha Golf and Country Club champion Steve Fredericks in the Athlete: Golf category,
*NHL’er with the Philadelphia Flyers and Memorial Cup champion (with the Guelph Platers in 1986) Kerry Huffman in the Athlete: Hockey category
*and internationally acclaimed skater Erin Kent in the Athlete: Synchronized Skating category.
These six inductees will be further recognized at the formal induction ceremony to be held at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Saturday, June 10th, 2023.
The Board also announced that Carolyn Cameron is being recognized for her long volunteer service and contributions to the Hall.
Tickets for the event are available for $20.00 and can be reserved by calling the Hall at (705) 743-6897. (Please note: the phone number listed in the Examiner article is incorrect)
