William A. Buchanan
A Peterborough hockey player from 1890 to 1900, he served as OHA Treasurer from 1901 to 1903 and OHA Secretary from 1902 to 1903. Age was not a factor in determining the category of competition; therefore a junior section may have players of any age range. At the 1898-99 OHA annual meeting, William Buchanan introduced an amendment to the rules, that the junior series should be limited to players under the age of 20. Despite strong opposition to this idea, the delegates voted to adopt the change. Thus the beginning of defining categories to OHA competition.
