Fred D. (Josh) Craig

From 1906 until 1930, Fred Craig was an influential local sportswriter and editor with the Peterborough Examiner writing under the pen-name ‘FDC’. More than a reporter and scorer, he was considered as part of the team. In his younger years Craig was a semi-pro baseball player, a football player and a coach of minor softball, basketball and hockey. At the time of his death (1945) he was acknowledged by his peers as the ‘Dean of Sports Editors in Eastern and Central Southern Ontario’.
