Sincere Condolences to the Family of Marie Wasson

Marie Wasson, wife of the late Donald (Red) Wasson (who served as chairman of the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame) passed away after a short illness on September 9, 2024.

Marie was a very involved Peterborough resident, with church, volunteering, friends, but above all, family. Marie is survived by her children Terry (Catherine), Don Jr., and Merrie. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jamie Sokary (Mason), Mallory Wasson (John Ward), and Matthew Smith, and her 2 great-granddaughters Samia and Laila Sokary. 

At Marie’s request, a private burial service was held at Rosemount Memorial Gardens in Peterborough on September 13th, for immediate family.

If so desired, donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Children in Marie’s memory.
