Condolences to the Family of Steve Casey

Our sincere condolences are extended to the family of Steve Casey as we learned of his passing on Thursday June 6, 2024.

Steve, who was inducted in 2009 in the Builder/Hockey category, dedicated his life to family, community and sport. His generous nature saw him devote more than half a century to the Liftlock Atom Hockey tournament, held annually in Peterborough, run completely by volunteers! Steve, who chaired the tournament committee for 26 years, recruited volunteers from every walk of life to ensure a real sense of community involvement.

Car Draw Chairman Steve Casey

Shortly after his induction, Steve became involved at the Hall serving on our Board of Directors, chairing the annual car draw, pitching in Tuesdays and Thursdays to keep the displays fresh and updated, and spearheading the sale of the “Steve Casey Pick-of-the-Litter” tickets at our annual Jack’s Golf Tournament. The photo of the golfer above is Steve, teeing off in the early mist, so that he would be ready to sell the Pick of the Litter tickets later in the day. He took his role seriously!
