Jack’s Hall of Fame Golf Tournament is back!!
You could hear the excitement in Tournament Chair Doug Gibson’s voice as he announced the return of “Jack’s Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament”, after missing last year due to COVID. It will be the 34th playing of this annual tournament!
The Quarry Golf Club on Tara Road in Ennismore will play host to the tournament Thursday September 16th, 2021. The tournament, with an entry fee of $175, will be limited to 240 players, and the slate is filling up quickly. “The guys are just really excited to get out on the course and return to some form of normalcy”, Gibson said.
Gibson went on to say “Our tournament is unique in that your foursome can play either a scramble or chose to play keeping individual scores. The Bob McGillen Trophy will be awarded to the Scramble winning foursome, while the Jack White Trophy will be awarded to the Low Gross Champion. Golfers will be provided with breakfast, lunch, on-course snacks, and (COVID protocols withstanding) dinner.” Hole-in-One opportunities are being provided by Trent Valley Honda and Merrett Home Hardware and Building Centre, while our putting contest this year is sponsored by Ruttle Group Inc Financial Planning (in coordination with Canada Life).
We could not run this tournament without generous sponsorship and the continued support of local businesses, including Darling Insurance, Franz’s Meat Market, Porch & Pint Restaurant, Spanky’s, 180 on Hunter, Pizza Shack, Molson’s, Corby’s, RBC Dominion Securities, Peterborough Glass, and NuBodies Fitness.
Proceeds from the golf tournament help to support the bursary program for high school student athletes, and the Hall of Fame Operating Fund.
