2015 Inductees Officially Welcomed
With 176 people in attendance, Friday June 5th was a special night for the 2015 inductees, Amy (Caskey) Bush, Cindy (Mein) Moloney, Sandra (Boyce) Moloney, Chad Walsh (who represented his grandfather, the late Harry Walsh Sr), Steve Warr, and Ken Withers. Lead into the Evinrude Centre venue by piper Reece Muir, it was obvious from the proud smiles on the inductees faces that this not just another night in Peterborough.
Introduced by Master of Ceremonies Don Barrie, each inductee spoke passionately about his or her start in the Peterborough sporting community including what they gained from each of their dedicated coaches, the positive influences and support from their family, their personal and team achievements, and what each continues to give back to their particular sport. Please visit the PDSHOF Inductee pages to view their personal accomplishments.
Doug Gibson, chairman of the 29th annual ‘Jack’s Golf Tournament’, was proud to present PDSHOF chairman Ken Ruttan with a cheque for $20,000, which Ken said “will be put to very good use” at the Hall of Fame.
In his remarks, Ruttan recognized and thanked two outstanding volunteers: past chairman Don “Red” Wasson for his dedicated years of service to the Hall, that includes 16 years as chairman, as well as inductee Gus Leonard, who continues to volunteer twice a week at the Hall, noting that he just celebrated his 95th birthday!
Thank you to Sally Graham, Pat Bronson, and each member of the volunteer team who helped to make last night a memorable one.
The 36th Annual PDSHOF Induction Dinner was another successful celebration! Please enjoy some of the photos from last night.
