Recognition for Hall of Fame Members
A number of Hall of Fame members have recently been recognized for their contribution to sport and their community. Tim Barrie a 2013 inductee was named Peterborough Business Citizen of the Year; Jennifer Walinga a 2013 inductee was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame; Neil Thompson and Bob Crowe have had their sweaters retired by the Peterborough Men’s City Softball League; the James Stevenson Park was rededicated and renamed “George Red Sullivan East City Bowl” in recognition of one of Peterborough’s most outstanding athletes and Maurice “Lefty” Reid was an honoured guest at the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame Awards Dinner. He was the former Curator of the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame.
