Tim McCutcheon
There isn’t much in the golf world Tim McCutcheon hasn’t done. A Peterborough native, he started playing at the age of 11 at the Peterborough Golf & Country Club. In the 1960s and 70s he was the Bantam and Juvenile Ontario Champion; Ontario Williamson Cup Team Champion; Ontario Team RCGA Junior Team Champion; OGA Champion of Champions; Peterborough G & CC Club Champion; City of Peterborough Match Play Champion; two time City of Peterborough Medal Play Champion; Peterborough Junior Champion; represented Ontario at the Canadian Junior Championships in BC and Quebec; and was a two time winner of Ontario PGA Senior Summer Championship. Tim earned a golf scholarship to Indiana University playing two years before transferring to the University of Waterloo where he won individual and team national and provincial championships. In 1989 he coached the University of Windsor to an OUA Golf Championship. He spent three years 1975-77 on the Canadian PGA Tour playing the Canadian Open at Royal Montreal, Windsor’s Essex and Glen Abbey. Tim has also had a lengthy career as a head and teaching pro. He has received several honours for his outstanding achievement in golf – 1968 Peterborough Junior Athlete of the Year; 1999 Waterloo University Hall of Fame; and 2008 Golf Association of Ontario’s Wall of Recognition. He is still a member of PGA Canada and has recently received Life Professional status.
From his teen years studying penmanship at PCVS, Tim later developed the ability to provide golf calligraphy presentations, serving various golf associations across Canada and the USA. He has done extensive scoreboard work for the PGA Tour, Golf Canada and the Web.com Tour.
