Patricia P. (Pat) Bronson

A natural leader, Pat Bronson used speed, agility and talent to excel in sports. As a player and coach, her achievements were numerous. She was a founding member of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association and a member of six provincial championship teams, including the 1992 Senior A Ontario winners. In softball, she won five city and six provincial championships and earned the top batter award in the 1983 Ontario finals.

Pat stood out in basketball – PWBL Rookie of the Year and twice league MVP. She won five consecutive league titles with the YWCA. She also served as League President for more than 20 years and in 1986 was recipient of its Dedication Award. She was a playing member of the 1968 Ontario and Eastern Canadian Champion Keith Brown Jetettes. In her teens, Pat was three times Track and Field Champion of Crestwood Secondary School.

Pat was Peterborough’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1976, YWCA Woman of the Year in 1980 and received the Government of Canada Certificate of Merit in 1987 for contribution to her community.
