George F. Orde

The PAAA (Peterborough Amateur Athletic Association) took charge of area athletic games on May 24th, 1885 which included track and field. At their first fall meet George Orde (a stand-out sprinter while attending PCVS) was the dominant athlete winning the 100, 220  and 440 yard races. George F. Orde married Charlotte Jane Carnagie in 1887 and moved to Minnesota, U.S.A.  He never returned to Canada and died in 1933.
