F. P. (Pat) Larock

Dedication to the development of minor sport in Peterborough was the trade mark of Pat Larock who spent countless hours assisting youngsters in minor lacrosse and hockey. He served in every position imaginable in hockey. For more than two decades he was involved in the executive end of the game, including a three-year term as PMHA President.

When the Minor Hockey Council was formed in 1970, amalgamating All-Star teams from the PMHA and the PCCHL, Pat was a member of the original executive. He played a major role, including a term as President, in the development of our minor hockey system, one of the finest in Ontario.

Larock’s dedication to minor lacrosse includes four years as President of the PMLA. He served as an executive of the OMLA and received two Awards of Merit for contribution to the sport.

In 1990, he received the Phillippe Award for GE Canada, recognizing his contributions in the area of community service. He died in 2011.
