Barbara (Siddall) Robertson
Barbara Robertson has been a model of excellence and consistency during her outstanding golfing career for more than 59 years.
A diminutive golfer, Barbara was Ladies Club Champion at the Kawartha Golf & Country Club 13 times, beginning in 1952. She was the Kawartha Business Girls champion nine times, first in 1950, with a remarkable final victory 38 years later.
In 1977 she was a member of the Peterborough City and District team that won the Ontario Ladies Championship and in 1986, her district foursome won the Ontario Ladies Senior Championship.
As a member of the Bancroft Golf Club, Barbara won their Ladies Championship in 1993 and 1994. Moving to Norwood’s Oakland Greens Golf Club in 1995 she was the Senior Ladies Club Champion six times.
Barbara was a member of the Kawartha Golf & Country Club from 1946 to 1992 and served in many executive positions.
As a member of the Peterborough Curling Club, she served for more than 10 years on the ladies executive including one year as president.
In competition between the Peterborough and Kawartha Golf Clubs, Barb was match play champion twice and runner up four times. In the same time frame Barb captured the City and District Championship on two occasions.
Barbara’s sportsmanship, golfing skills, organizing ability and competitive spirit over the years have combined to make her one of Peterborough’s premier lady golfers and is most worthy of Hall of Fame recognition.
