Growing up in Peterborough, Andrea played many sports, but a knee injury turned her focus from competing to pursing a career in the field of sport therapy.  After graduating from St. Peter Secondary School, she completed a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, Honors B.Sc. (bilingual) at the University of Ottawa; Sport Therapy Certificate Program, York University; Certified Athletic Trainer, National Athletic Trainers Association (N.A.T.A.); Certified Athletic Therapist (C.A.T.A.) and in 2008 she certified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.  Throughout her impressive career, Andrea has continued to add to her professional resumé through ongoing education and experience.  She has pursued excellence in her chosen field of Athletic Therapy which has earned her assignments with the Canadian medical team for the 2012, 2016, 2021 Olympics, World University, Pan American and Commonwealth Games; Canada Games and Ontario Summer Games.  She has served as chief, head and core therapist for the Canadian Diving Team, Toronto International Track and Field Games, varsity men’s soccer, football, hockey, track & field and women’s field hockey; 2000 World Women’s Hockey Championship; Grand Slam Figure Skating; Junior and Senior Canadian Figure Skating Championships; CPGA Golf Championship; National Cheerleading Championship, and many other sports at all levels, including local Trent basketball camps.  She has even served as Head Therapist for the Radio City Rockettes and as personal therapist for actor George Hamilton. Team Canada’s Athletic Therapists are the core health service team available to athletes during all major events. As a Certified Athletic Therapist, Andrea’s expertise is working with athletes. She has been privileged to travel the world treating amateur and professional athletes with various sporting teams and events throughout her career. Andrea’s accomplishments, contribution and leadership to her profession have been recognized by her professional associations and the athletes and sport organizations that she has worked with.  Andrea currently serves as Sports Injury Clinic manager at York University and is a First Responder Instructor.
