Condolences to the Family of Helen Shea

It is with sadness that we post the passing of Helen Shea, a cherished cheerleader of the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame. Helen, the wife of the late inductee Stuart Shea (1982) died May 16, 2026 at the age of 94. Son Gary is an active volunteer at the Hall of Fame on Petes game nights, as well as with the “Lake Show” on Peterborough Century 21 Lakers Lacrosse nights.

Her obituary beautifully captures her life well lived! She leaves her children Sheldon, Gary, Allan, Patricia, Catherine, Terry and Carolyn, as well as 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren!

A private family service will be held on the morning of Tuesday June 9th 2026.  All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life for Helen from 1:00-5:00 pm on June 9th at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough Ontario.   A short devotion will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Thank you Helen for naming the Hall of Fame as a memorial choice for those who so choose. In memory of Helen and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the PRHC Foundation, The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame, The Peterborough Humane Society, or, a charity of your choice.
