Paralympic gold medalist Jon Thurston of Dunford, ON, who curls out of the Peterborough Curling Club, made a guest appearance at the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday. He was very gracious in meeting fans, showing his gold medal, signing autographs and having his photo taken with all who asked.

Jon, who defeated China to win the gold medal, was recognized by the Peterborough Petes, dropping the ceremonial puck before the game against the Barrie Colts. He received a well-deserved, lengthy, standing ovation from the packed house!
