Ceremony Welcomes 2024 Inductees
Saturday June 8th was a special night for the six new members formally inducted to the Hall of Fame!
In front of a completely sold out crowd, MC Linda de Jeu introduced Fred Blowes, Steve Caban, Ray Kerslake, Barb Mervin, Anna Panton and Brent Tully.
In their acceptance speeches, each described their sporting experiences, thanking coaches, teammates, mentors, family and friends for the support along the way that made them who they are today. Sport opened up their worlds to travel, vast competition, highs and lows, and many outstanding opportunities….none which would have been possible without sport.
Following the induction ceremony, a reception was held in the Hall of Fame.
Mike Davies, of the Peterborough Examiner, wrote introductory inductee articles in the spring, with a link to those articles appearing here. Thank you Mike.

Also during the ceremony, Paul Rochetta (on behalf of Jack’s Golf Tournament chair Doug Gibson), presented Hall of Fame Chair Patricia Bronson with cheques totalling $32,200. The golf tournament held at The Quarry this year, was attended by more than 240 golfers. Proceeds came from Jack’s Mulligans, live and silent auctions and a portion of the entry fee. These proceeds fund the Student Bursary and operating budget at the Hall. Thanks to all of our sponsors and players for making this endeavour a huge success once again!
Thank you to all who attended the Induction Ceremony. Your support was greatly appreciated by the new members!
To each of the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame volunteers…thank you for making this induction night a memorable evening for the all!
