Sincere Condolences to family of Inductee Jim Clement

We were saddened to learn of the passing of 2011 Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame Inductee James M. (Jim) Clement.

Jim, an accomplished athlete in the sport of shooting, passed away Monday March 25, 2024 at the age of 91. He leaves his son Randy and daughter Lee Anne and their families, and was predeceased by his wife Joyce in 2019.

From his induction biography comes the following excerpt:

“Born in Peterborough, Jim started rifle shooting at the age of 13 and began a lifetime of competitive shooting. He was the youngest competitor to ever shoot at the national championships. Along with his father Dave, he was a member of the 1951 Canadian Outdoor Match Rifle Team taking home first place honours. He was the 1959 Barrie Skeet Club Champion; the 1964 and 1965 Twelve Gauge AA Skeet Shooting Ontario Champion and the 1965 Capital of Canadian AA Skeet Champion.”

“Jim Clement has been a dominant presence in the sport of Rifle, Skeet and Trap Shooting for almost 60 years.”
