Condolences to the Family and Friends of Bob Rivard

The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame is saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Rivard on January 1st, 2023. He was 84 years old.

Rivard was inducted in 2006 for his prowess in ice hockey, playing under Scotty Bowman with the TPT Petes. He played on the Petes’ first Ontario championship team in 1958-59, going on to their first Memorial Cup appearance in Winnipeg. The next season with the Petes, Bob scored 53 points in the regular season and added another 19 points in 12 playoff games. He played in the AHL with the Quebec Aces, where he was named AHL’s Rookie of the Year, before moving on to the NHL playing 27 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
