Peterborough Lakers 18th Mann Cup Win Makes History…and they complete the “4-peat”!

Congratulations to the 2022 Mann Cup Champion Peterborough Lakers who won this years’ tournament after a 7 game battle with the Langley Thunder. Down two games to start the MSL series, the Lakers came back to claim the trophy 4 games to 3.

This is the second time in Mann Cup history that one team has won four straight titles. The first team was the 1951-1954 Peterborough Timbermen/Trailermen.

PDSHOF Secretary/Treasurer Paul Rochetta was one of many Lakers fans to have his picture taken with the Mann Cup. It was on display in the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame throughout the championship series.
These originals were presented by the Peterborough Lakers to the Sports Hall of Fame for permanent display. Series MVP and games officials were also gifted this artwork
