Congratulations to Peterborough native Barrett Hayton, captain of the 2020 World Junior Champions: Team Canada!

From those of us at the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame, heartfelt congratulations to Barrett Hayton, captain of the 2020 World Junior Championship team, who played through the gold medal game with a shoulder injury.

Hayton scores the tying goal making it 2-2 in the third period

Down by a score of 2-1 heading into the third period, Hayton scored the tying goal, giving his team the spark they needed to win over Russia with a final score of 4-3.

For his efforts, Hayton was named to the Media All-Star team. Congratulations to Barrett Hayton and the entire 2020 World Junior Champions–Team Canada!!
