2019 “Pink in the Rink” Another Successful Night!

Although the final score was in favour of the Oshawa Generals, the Peterborough Petes and the Canadian Cancer Society were the real winners last night at the Memorial Centre.

The arena was filled with pink, the crowd was respectfully silent as the video presentation showing photographs of survivors and those lost to cancer was broadcast, and then the audience erupted when the the money raised over the past decade was announced to the crowd.  Including the 2019 campaign, more than $697,000 has been raised!

Cameron Mann and Steve Larmer, named this year’s chairmen of the Pink in the Rink campaign, said their fundraising goal was set at $65,000 and they exceeded this goal by raising $80.811.11!

The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame had on display all 10 Pink in the Rink jerseys, much to the delight of camera-toting fans who perused names on the sweaters and then posed with several of the jerseys.

Congratulations Peterborough Petes!
