Thank You Margie Strickland!
The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame has on display the Peterborough City Lacrosse League championship trophy. This trophy was donated to the league by surviving members of the 38th Ottawa Battalion to honour the memory of Captain Harold Frederick Hill, who was killed in action while serving with this unit in France during World War I.
This past week, Margie Strickland, niece of Captain Harold Hill, pictured here holding the memorial trophy, and her three nephews, paid a visit to the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame to donate a portrait of Harold Hill, a World War I newspaper featuring photos of Peterborough area soldiers, and other articles which will add depth to the sporting and historical perspective of the Hall of Fame.
The PDSHOF extends a sincere thank you Margie Strickland for this generous donation!
