Remembering Herb Warr
The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame and the community have lost a good friend. Herb Warr an Honoured member of the Hall of Fame passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the age of 90 . Herb was born in the small community of Westwood, Ontario (east of Peterborough). He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. Herb Warr was a well respected community leader who made a significant contribution to minor sports, working with the City Boys Work Board and the Peterborough Community Church Hockey League. He sat on the Board of Directors for the Peterborough Petes from 1967-2002. Herb’s wife of 70 years Gladiola predeceased him by six months. The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame extend condolences to the Warr family.
