Steve Rexe, an Honoured Member of the Hall of Fame passed away November 12, 2013 at his home in Belleville, Ontario. He was 66 years old. A former goalie for his hometown Petes, Steve holds the distinction of being the first player ever drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He signed with the LA Kings and won the Calder Cup with Springfield of the AHL. Steve was a member of the Canadian National Men’s Hockey Team and competed at the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble, France. Steve had a successful career in OHA Senior A hockey. The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame wish to offer our condolences to Steve’s family.
